]]> What a treat! Little Christmas Fantasy was premiered on Thursday December 3rd 2015 in the USA by American Clarinetist Christy Andrews. Check out Christy’s performance preceded by the brief pre-concert talk explaining how she got introduced to my music. Thumbs up!

Also here are some thoughts that Christy shared with us after the performance:

“It is a very challenging piece! It hits the top altissimo notes on the clarinet, and has modern techniques like flutter tonguing, slap tonguing, sort of a beat boxing (air accent), a woodblock like smacking sound, glissando, and pretty much everything but the “kitchen sink!” Or maybe that’s in there too, I don’t remember. Lol! Thanks for listening to the performance! It’s taken me two years to get up the courage to perform it, and I was pretty nervous because I knew it was being recorded. I also didn’t realize I’d be playing this in the lobby with the echo-y effect. That made me have to think a little more on how to pull off some of the sound effects, and I had to take a little more time in spots so that might be heard in that big room…so that was interesting!

It goes to the “super C” as I like to call it. It’s the highest note on the advanced fingering chart I have, probably a whole octave higher then the fingering chart you would get in your band book! It’s not a low stress piece to play because you never know if the reed is going to make the notes in that octave speak correctly every time! This one is a tough piece to play…took me two years to get up the courage to perform it much less record it and post it! … One of the hardest pieces I’ve probably ever played!”

“The piece was a hit! The audience cheered twice as loud for Fantasy versus anything else on the program today. Great piece!”

]]> Having a photo-session can be a fun thing to do. So Thursday the 9th 2015 was a pretty funny day, despite all the hassle on the way. We tried several stylings but one of them really takes the cake – a street performer! The outfit was perfect and I really felt like a busker!

U sklopu Glazbenog kampa održat će se minimalno dva koncerta od kojih se Završni koncert održava 17. srpnja 2015. u 21 sat. Smještaj polaznika organizira se u Edukacijsko rehabilitacijskom kampu Hrvatskog saveza slijepih u Premanturi (ERKS) gdje će biti smješteni u dvokrevetnim sobama (s mogućnošću dodavanja trećeg ležaja) prema rasporedu koji slaže organizator. U istom objektu organiziraju se i obroci ( doručak, ručak i večera ) na kojima su polaznici obvezni biti prisutni.

U slobodno vrijeme polaznicima su organizirani odlasci na kupanje kao i razne rekreativne aktivnosti. Za polaznike, kada nisu na nastavi, je zadužena osoba / odgajatelj kojoj se mogu obratiti za čuvanje dokumenata i važnih osobnih stvari, kao i ukoliko imaju kakvu poteškoću. Kotizacija sa smještajem i punim pansionom iznosi 3500kn, bez smještaja i obroka iznosi 2000 kn, za pasivno sudjelovanje iznosi 700 kn (iznos kotizacije moguće je platiti obročno u dogovoru s organizatorom, a ukupan iznos kotizacije mora biti uplaćen zaključno sa 6. srpnjem 2015.). Broj polaznika je ograničen.

Highlights of 2006 will include recitals in the Zagreb County Musical Ring Cycle (Zagreb Concert Management) with a prominent Japanese pianist Hiroyo Imagawa, a Gala Concert with the Slavonsky String Quartet in honour of 250th Mozart’s birth anniversary, series of concerts with the Mirabell String Quartet all across Austria and Germany, featured soloist concerts and studio productions with HGZ Symphony Orchestra (conductor I.Gjadrov), Tamburitza Orchestra of Croatian National Radio-Television (conductor S.Leopold) and “Ferdo Livadić” Tamburitza Orchestra, as well as tours all across Italy and Slovenia. Appearances at the major international competitions in Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as winning the Mozarteum’s Master’s degree title are also scheduled for 2006. Together with his main occupation, M.Paar will continue composing and writing (SSN Herald), and his activities in the Croatian Clarinet Society, while permanent expansion of the mihaelpaar.com will eventually result with even more complex and functional site. A short view backwards, on the other hand, will reveal that in 2005 M.Paar gave about ten recitals including those of Italy tour in May, he won prizes at the international competitions in Ohrid (Mac) and Bari (Ita) and appeared in the semi-finals of the Padua International Competition. ]]> Number of most diverse projects in collaboration with the renowned artists will mark the schedule of M.Paar in the started year. Highlights of 2006 will include recitals in the Zagreb County Musical Ring Cycle (Zagreb Concert Management) with a prominent Japanese pianist Hiroyo Imagawa, a Gala Concert with the Slavonsky String Quartet in honour of 250th Mozart’s birth anniversary, series of concerts with the Mirabell String Quartet all across Austria and Germany, featured soloist concerts and studio productions with HGZ Symphony Orchestra (conductor I.Gjadrov), Tamburitza Orchestra of Croatian National Radio-Television (conductor S.Leopold) and “Ferdo Livadić” Tamburitza Orchestra, as well as tours all across Italy and Slovenia. Appearances at the major international competitions in Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as winning the Mozarteum’s Master’s degree title are also scheduled for 2006. Together with his main occupation, M.Paar will continue composing and writing (SSN Herald), and his activities in the Croatian Clarinet Society, while permanent expansion of the mihaelpaar.com will eventually result with even more complex and functional site. A short view backwards, on the other hand, will reveal that in 2005 M.Paar gave about ten recitals including those of Italy tour in May, he won prizes at the international competitions in Ohrid (Mac) and Bari (Ita) and appeared in the semi-finals of the Padua International Competition. Being the guest soloist of the Mirabell Quartet he was appointed the title of the UNI ART Performance featured artist, while starting with February 14, mihaelpaar.com was introduced as the ambitious, interactive website with all the relevant data about M.Paar as a performer and author. Awards are given in ten separate categories while the evaluation criteria includes implementation of advanced web services and applications, the quality of presented material, frequency of maintenance, the speed of loading, intuitivism of users interface and navigation solutions, visual component, as well as the level of functionality of respective web. In each of the ten categories, the best site will be determined and in within those ten the best one will be chosen which will, together with the best of the best of other categories, form the absolute top ten of Croatian web. The organizer is obliged to announce the results by December 31, 2005 at the latest.
