Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band? Ako ste upoznati s životom i opusom slavne četvorke iz Liverpoola onda znate o čemu je ovdje riječ. Navedeni ‘manje poznati’ sastav, ili skraćeno samo Sgt. Pepper, naslovna je pjesma njihovog istoimenog albuma iz 1967. godine. Vrijeme je to kada Beatlesi prekidaju s live nastupima i potpuno se transformiraju u studijske glazbenike, umorni od uloge svjetskih zabavljača i pripadajuće rutine, pa čak i samih sebe. Dolaze na ideju da kreiraju vlastiti alter ego u obliku imaginarnog benda – Sgt. Pepper. Rezultat toga vjerojatno je najkreativniji i kompleksniji album Beatlesa i po mnogim izborima najbolji album rock glazbe u povijesti. To su drugačiji Beatlesi jer sada djeluju kao netko drugi, neopterećeni postizanjem svog prepoznatljivog zvuka. Album je ujedno i konceptualni jer velikim dijelom provlači temu imaginarnog benda, u maniri u kojoj su neke pjesme i fizički povezane. Po tome je i jedan od prvih, i svakako najutjecajnih.
