The European Week – annual event with the town of Samobor as one of the 2006 Croatian hosts, was exclusively marked by W.A.Mozart and the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth. On May 10, last day of one-week special event, Mihael Paar and Sebastian String Quartet gave a Gala Concert in the Prica Gallery performing some of the most distinguished works from the Mozart’s chamber opus. Besides the famous Clarinet Quintet KV 581 (Stadler-Quintet) and just as famous String Quartet KV 387 (1st Haydn-Quartet), the uniqueness of the entire show was ensured by the Croatian premiere of the uncompleted Allegro for clarinet and string quartet KV Anh. 91. Mozart Forever with the background program, stood as an ambitious project of the organizer POU Samobor as well as performers themselves, while the production output was esspecially featured through the accompanying details whose late Baroque elements tried to “evoke” the spirit of Amadeus itself, and the late 18th century Vienna and Salzburg.
